Terms
The terms you accept when you upload a photograph or buy a pack. They are meant to be read in one sitting by somebody who has better things to do.
One term here is unusual, and it is unusual in your favour: the refund.
What you are buying
The mending of the damage in a photograph you upload, delivered as a file. Not a print, not a frame, and never the handling of the object itself — nothing is posted in either direction.
A pack is a quantity of photographs paid for once. Nothing renews and there is nothing to cancel later.
The free mend
One photograph, mended, without a card. The version on screen carries our mark; the file beneath it is clean, and buying the single photograph or a pack removes the mark.
There is a daily ceiling on free mends and a limit per address. That is what keeps them free, and it is the only limit on this site.
What you must be entitled to send
Uploading a photograph is you telling us you may have it mended — your photograph, your family's, or one whose owner has no objection.
Nothing unlawful, and nothing of another person who would object to your handing it over. We do not inspect what arrives; where something is plainly either, we refuse it and refund it.
The photographs remain yours
Every right in what you upload and in what comes back stays with you. We take none of it.
What you grant is a narrow permission for the job in hand: to hold the file, make the working copy the mend requires, do the work and return it — for the retention period and no other purpose.
Nothing of yours is published or shown to anybody. Should we ever wish to use one as an example, we ask first, and declining costs you nothing.
What we undertake, and what we cannot undertake
We undertake to mend the damage and alter nothing else: no cropping, no straightening, no colourising a monochrome print, and nothing done to a face that was not damage.
We tell you plainly that the mend invents. Where the damage destroyed part of the picture outright, the gap is filled with whatever fits rather than left empty, a missing face included. We instruct against it with every photograph sent, and it fills the gap regardless. Whatever occupies a destroyed area came from us and records nothing.
The invented areas are not marked on the file and we cannot list them for you. Set the mend beside your own scan; that is the only dependable way to see where the damage ran.
We cannot undertake a particular outcome. What comes back depends on what survived in the paper, which is precisely why the first one costs nothing.
The mended file need not match your original's dimensions. You receive what the mend produced, at the size it produced.
Cancelling, and the refund
Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you have fourteen days to cancel a distance contract. Because the mending begins as soon as you send the photographs, you are asking us to start within that period and you accept that the right to cancel is lost for work already done. Anything not yet mended, we refund in full.
Separately from that, and more usefully: if it does not look like the person you remember, you do not pay. Write within thirty days and we return the money for the whole order, without a discussion.
The files stay with you. We do not ask for them back and could not retrieve them if we did.
Delivery, and how long you have to collect
Most orders are finished within minutes. Where something fails at our end we run it again by hand or refund it, and your payment is safe throughout.
Collect within thirty days of an order finishing, or seven of a free mend. After that everything is deleted and neither of us can recover it.
When we may decline
We may decline or halt an order that is unlawful, that is plainly an attempt on the free mend, or that would require something these terms say we will not do. A paid order we decline is refunded.
Liability
Where we let you down, our liability is limited to returning what you paid. That is a genuine ceiling and an honest one at this price.
We accept no liability for the loss of your original print or of the file on your own computer, neither of which we ever had. Keep your scan; nothing here should be the only copy of anything.
None of this affects your statutory rights as a consumer, which we could not exclude and would not want to.
Changes, and the law
These terms may change for future orders. Yours is governed by the version published when you ordered, and the date below records when this wording last moved.
The governing law and the courts are those of the country in which the business is registered, which is stated on the company details page.
If anything here would stop you sending a photograph, say so. We would sooner rewrite a clause than lose the photograph.
